Digital media is any kind of digital data. At its most basic digital data is an array of binary signals (zeroes or ones) sent through satellites or digital cables, and received by devices which convert them into audios videos, graphics, text and many more. This encompasses everything from streaming television and movies on services such as Netflix to virtual reality simulators employed by medical institutions. It also includes websites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram which allow users to interact by posting photos, videos and messages.
